Incomplete record
The Reserves Cup
The reserve teams had their own knockout, and the historical site listed its winners. That roll has not yet been re-verified, so this page holds the competition’s place without inventing its history.
The historical site published a “Reserves Cup ex winners” page; the legacy ledger
records its address, and that address now resolves here.
Reserve sides appear throughout the verified record — including
the main League Cup roll, where Margate
Reserves (1935–36), Folkestone Reserves and Gillingham Reserves all lifted the senior
trophy. The reserve knockout’s own roll is a separate record, and it is that record
which remains unverified.
What is missing
Winners, finalists and seasons of the Reserves Cup itself. Neither structured historical
source captured for this archive covers the competition, and no partial reconstruction is
published because a half-invented roll of honour is worse than an empty one.
Offering evidence
Handbooks, presentation-night programmes and local press reports are exactly the kind of
material that could rebuild this roll. If it can be checked, it can be published — the
corrections route is the way in, and the
methodology is the standard it will be held to.
