Claim classes
- Source-backed record
- A value listed in a named source — for example a champion in the 1966–2013 divisional record. The source docket beside the record gives the source and the date it was checked.
- Derived summary
- A count, span or pattern calculated from the listed records. It can describe those records, but it does not add seasons, scores, standings or events that they do not contain.
- What the source covers
- A source may cover only a competition, period or kind of record. The accompanying text states that scope instead of extending the source beyond it.
- Time-sensitive guidance
- Practical or funding information that changes. It carries the date it was checked and a link to the page where the current version lives. This archive never republishes criteria or amounts as if they were permanent.
- Not recorded
- A record the historical site once published but which has not yet been re-verified. The missing-record register states what is known, what is absent and which evidence would be useful. It covers the two reserve divisions, the Reserves Cup and final league tables in one place.
- Editorial reading
- A reading of patterns, rivalries or context. It is separated from source-backed facts in the text, as on the Kent derbies page.
Dating rules
Dates shown against sources are the dates those sources were checked, not a general “last updated” stamp for the page. If a claim has no separate date, it is drawn from the listed historical records rather than from guidance that changes over time.
What is never done
- No table is completed with plausible-looking entries to avoid a gap.
- No archived prose is copied from historical captures; facts are extracted, text is rewritten.
- No claim is extended beyond its source’s span — the champions record ends in 2012–13 because the source ends there.
- No mock-up, illustration or design reference is treated as a factual source.
Season naming
Seasons display as YYYY–YY. The two source datasets write seasons differently (2008-09 and 2008/09); they are normalised for display but never merged in a way that changes which season a record belongs to. Club names keep the exact spelling of the source record, including historical forms and reserve-side designations.
