What the record shows

Tunbridge Wells win the cup twice before the war — 1932–33 and 1933–34 — and return to the roll in the 1950s with wins in 1952–53 and 1954–55. The post-war run continues through 1974–75, 1977–78, 1985–86 and 1987–88: eight recorded wins in all, the most of any club on the roll.

The league record adds the 1984–85 Division One championship — in the era when Division One was the top flight, making that entry an outright league title in the record’s terms.

The roll then shows the club twice reaching finals in the SCEFL era of the same competition, as recorded runner-up in 2014–15 and 2017–18 — evidence of the same name contesting the same trophy across more than eighty years.
